To meet its legislative requirements under the Federal Sustainable Development Act, Elections Canada has produced a Departmental Sustainable Development Strategy, which was tabled in Parliament on October 24, 2023.
Elections Canada can maintain its independence while meeting the legislative requirements related to being part of the federal public service, including those related to the Departmental Sustainable Development Strategy.
Initiatives included in our Departmental Sustainable Development Strategy are based on Elections Canada's own priorities as outlined in our Strategic Plan 2020–2028.
